Seeking a team environment with a HR support network of 10 people?? Does working on the south-side, close to home and away from the refinery area interest you?? If so, perhaps this 1 year contract opportunity would be the one for you!
?Reporting into the senior HR Manager, our client requires someone to start by the beginning of April to jump in and handle the growing portfolio of 300+ that needs a dedicated, superb HR Advisor.
?
Responsibilities for the chosen candidate will include the following:
- Coaching and performance management-working closely with the key management/supervisory team pertaining to employee relations issues, compensation practices, career development, talent and succession planning, retention and engagement, onboarding challenges, and change management
- Acting as a very hands on partner collaborating with various HR groups within Edmonton, Alberta and globally to ensure enhanced program development and delivery and to resolve issues that extend beyond local functions
- Providing subject matter expertise in identified areas of knowledge such as Mobility, Salary Review, Mobilization/Demobilization processes, Learning & Development and various HR Systems
- Acting as a champion for various groups
- Ensuring that all proper policies and practices within the work place are followed
- Managing complex HR projects as assigned from initiation through a planned management of change and sustainability
- Supervising one HR Administrative Assistant
- Other related HR duties not listed above as required

Qualifications to be considered for the role include the following:
- Completed business/human resources degree
- CHRP designation is an asset
- Five or more years of progressively responsible generalist HR experience
- Excellent communication skills-verbal and written
- Supervisory skills-needs to have overseen at least 1 more staff in the past
- Demonstrated competence in communication, developing effective business relationships, conflict resolutions, decision making, customer service, achieving results, and managing challenging situations
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Past experience working for an engineering or industrial business ideal
